Vaccine Requirement for Senior Year
WHO: All Juniors going to 12th grade next school year!
WHAT: A second dose of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MenACWY or MCV4)
WHEN: Required before entering the 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes first. This is your early reminder to get this done soon or over the summer to prevent any issues at the start of next school year.
You will be excluded from school within the first 30 days of school if it is not completed.
Do the following:
1. Contact your doctor/health care provider or local health department to meet this immunization requirement before the school year starts.
2. Submit your updated immunization record to your school nurse (Amber Moore). You may drop it off at the school or email me (
almoore@ncpschools.net)
More about the vaccine:
The required vaccine is the booster dose (dose #2) of meningococcal conjugante vaccine (MenACWY or MCV4). You received the first one in middle school.
Meningococcal B vaccine (MenB) is NOT the required vaccine. This is a different type of vaccine that is "recommended" for teenagers but not "required". MenB is NOT a substitute for the correct vaccine.

Good afternoon, Parents/Guardians:
Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) will conduct an important Mass Communication Test on Friday, February 9, 2024. This test aims to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of our communication systems, ensuring that we can reach all members of our school community promptly in critical situations.
This test will involve each school in our district. For parents and guardians with contact information linked to their child's school records, please anticipate receiving notifications via text messages, voice calls, and emails.
This initiative is crucial for confirming that our lines of communication are fully operational and that you are kept informed about your child's safety and school events.
If your email or phone number fails during our test, please be advised that your child's school will attempt to contact you through alternative means. This may include sending a letter home with your child or employing another communication method over the following four weeks.
We also want to remind you of the importance of keeping your contact information current in our system. You can review and update your child's details anytime through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, or contact your child's school. It is not uncommon for contact information to be incorrect by just a single digit, yet accurate details are crucial for ensuring that we can reach all parents and guardians effectively.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the well-being of our students and the broader school community.
Thank you,
Nash County Public Schools

Be there as students from Enloe and Rocky Mount compete in the opening round of the Brain Game Playoffs.
There is no cost, or ticket needed to attend a Brain Game taping.
The Brain Game Auditorium inside building E seats 300 people, each school has been designated 100 seats, with room for overflow. The audience will appear on television, and we would love to have it full of school spirit: Students, teachers, mascots, cheerleaders, marching bands, friends, and family.
The last call for audience seating this Saturday is 11:45 am. Free snacks and drinks will be available in the “Green Room” reception area to audience members arriving earlier.
Once the game gets underway it typically takes 30-40 minutes. There will be a period to take pictures of the competitors on set after the conclusion of the contest. We estimate the taping session to be wrapped up at 12:30 pm
This contest is set to air on WRAL at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 9th.
