Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS)
Nashville Elementary Students and Staff are guided by the Cardinal Pledge. We say it every day and work to make our daily behaviors and experiences live up to being our best self. The Nashville Elementary Pledge: Today I will do more than I have to do. I will use self control and never give up. I will respect myself and others. I will take responsibility for my actions. I will be my best self.
Another tool we use to build student awareness and ownership includes teaching the formula EVENT + RESPONSE = OUTCOME. This is taught during morning announcements and is a tool used by students and staff to help problem solve situations, raise awareness to our own behaviors and actions and help instill ownership in our choices.
PBIS Celebration: Each grade level provides weekly PBIS incentives through their individual classrooms. They also have a nine week grade level experience to celebrate student success.
Feather Drawing: Students have the opportunity to earn "feathers" at school in transitions or outside of the classroom, at the end of each week feathers will be turned in by grade level and a drawing will be held. There is a winner for each grade level and a prize is given to them through the front office.
Rooms is replacing Class Dojo this year. Rooms is a school wide program that helps students and parents stay connected to the classroom. This program allows students and parents to stay up to date on the students behavior with a point system, the point system is based on positive behaviors. This system also allows parents to easily communicate with teachers.
