Good Evening Bulldogs,
This week is our Fall book fair. I remember as a student many moons ago, that I loved going in there and buying books and the smelly pencils. We would also like invite our parents and grandparents to volunteer in our book fair if you are willing and able. You can sign up online or just come on in.
This week due to the bookfair being in the library, we ask that all of our K-5 students report straight to the cafeteria if they arrive to school before 7:40am.
This week on Tuesday we have our Fall Individual pictures. ALL students will take a picture and this will be the picture that is used for our school’s yearbook.
Next Saturday, the 12th, is our beautification day from 9am-12pm. We would LOVE to have all our students and parents who are willing and able to come out and help. We want to have Coopers’ lawn looking the best in the district. There is a sign up for this as well on our website.
Thank you to all of our students, staff, and family members for selling the Bulldog raffle tickets. Today we went Facebook live around 2:15pm and announced all of our winners. We sold enough tickets to put our money with what the district had allotted us, to get new playground equipment, either at the end of this year or over the summer. I am not sure exactly how long it will take for the equipment to be ordered, delivered, and installed. This is exciting! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!
Last but certainly not least, our Candyman kickoff was this morning in the gym for all of our students. The Candyman information will be coming home with students on Monday if it did not go home with them today. This is the PTO’s first fundraiser of the year.
Please check out our website for upcoming events. The rest of this month is very busy, with dress up days and events. To stay up to date, please check out the school’s calendar on our website under “students”.

Good Evening Bulldogs,
It's hard to believe September has come and gone, and we're now stepping into the beautiful fall month of October.
This Tuesday, we will be hosting our Curriculum and Title 1 Night. From 5:00 to 5:30 PM, I will be reviewing our Title 1 budget in the library. Afterward, parents will have the opportunity to visit their child's classroom to learn about the curriculum and the tests students will be taking this year. Please note that third-grade teachers have already presented their information and will not be present that evening. We will have three rotations for parents to visit different grade levels: 5:30–6:00 PM, 6:10–6:40 PM, and 6:50–7:20 PM. Our PTO will also be on site, selling items in the center circle, and a member of the Cub Scouts will be available with information for any families interested in learning more.
This Wednesday is National Custodial Day. A big thank you to our four wonderful custodians—Mr. Rodney, Mrs. Tracy, Mr. Williams, and Mr. Tucker—for all they do to keep our school looking great!
Additionally, our third graders will be going on their Ecology field trip on Wednesday. If you haven’t returned your child's permission slip, please do so as soon as possible. Students without signed permission forms will not be able to attend.
This Friday marks our first PBIS Hat Day! For a $1 donation, students can wear a hat to school and around campus all day. The money raised will support PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) incentives throughout the year for students who earn them. Our first PBIS event will be a Trunk or Treat at the end of October.
Finally, our October newsletter will be sent out via email this evening. If you do not receive it, please let your child’s teacher know and provide your email address to ensure you receive important updates about upcoming events each month. It includes upcoming dates such as picture day on the 8th of October and Beautification day on the 12th from 9-12pm. We would love to have a great turn out for this event!
I hope everyone has a great evening.

Bulldog families, over the past two weeks, Jessica Ezell from Carolina Family Health visited our students and gave an eye-opening demonstration on the effects of sugar from popular drinks, showing how plaque can build up if we don't brush our teeth properly. She also shocked everyone by revealing how many teaspoons of sugar are in one serving of apple juice. Yikes! This was just another reminder of how important it is to pay close attention to what we are eating and drinking.
Don't forget to turn in your signed permission forms if you'd like your child to visit the Dental Bus. Let's keep those bulldog smiles healthy!
